The introduction of artificial intelligence, robotics, social media, various sensors and wearables in medicine could save millions of lives and reduce costs at the same time.

There is one question, however, which needs to be answered. Who can and should provide these new technologies for the advancement of humanity?

Tech companies could change healthcare with their knowledge about disruption and could lead the way to medical innovation.

    Amazon, Berkshire Hathaway, and JPMorgan Chase are teaming up to form a healthcare company to serve their U.S. workers in yet another example of large employers taking employee healthcare matters into their own hands to reduce costs.

    Details on the new venture were sparse, but the companies said early Tuesday that they will leverage their combined scale and expertise to develop technology solutions to provide employees and their families “simplified, high-quality and transparent healthcare at a reasonable cost.”

    Less than two years ago, Walmart embarked on an ambitious plan to expand access to primary care in under served areas across the country. Its board of directors secretly approved a bold plan to stand up 1,000 clinics by 2024 and 4,000 by 2029. These clinics, known as Walmart Health, sought to disrupt healthcare with transparent cash-prices. But already the clinic strategy is in flux. The rollout has slowed dramatically.
