Interesting Articles of Yore
I’ve posted hundreds of articles on the Medical Executive-Post over the last year, and it always surprises me when something I long ago forgot rises to the top of their popularity scale.
The Run-Down
Earlier today, a comment I posted on March 30 titled “Usual and Customary UnitedHealthcare” was the most popular article out of thousands (?).

Why the sudden interest in UnitedHealth? Where is it coming from?
At the same time, an article I posted on June 17 titled, “GM Bankruptcy Hits Delta Dental Hard,” had just showed up at 11th of the top dozen most popular articles. Why?

Now, the UnitedHealthcare has dropped off the top dozen, and GM Bankruptcy has moved up to number 6.
Assessment
Do you find that interesting? What do you think happened in the dental insurance market that has ME-P juggling my articles?

A Puzzler
Yesterday, it was Delta Dental and UnitedHealth that became popular on the Medical Executive-Post’s “Top Post Rankings.” Today, it is BCBSTX.
“Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Texas on Facebook,” from July 6, is now the ME-P’s 4th most popular article.

Note that none of my other articles are appearing in the top dozen. I don’t recall ever seeing focused activity like this on the ME-P. What is driving the interest in dental insurance? Any guesses?

Hi Darrell,
A single popular post tends to drive related posts along with it. This is not so much SEO, as simple human interest.

Thanks, Sally
Wouldn’t you call SEO strength a manifestation of simple human interest?
The point is, there seems to be a focused interest on articles covering dental insurance that I have never witnessed before in the ME-P. I think perhaps employers are shopping for benefits. I hope the information I’ve provided helps them decide what is best for their employees’ health.

I hope I’m not boring anyone, but this morning, I discovered that yet another dental benefits article I posted on ME-P rose out of nowhere to become listed in the top 4 articles.
“BCBSTX Must Talk to D. Kellus Pruitt DDS”

Any ideas about what is going on? Anyone?
I find this challenging – sort of like forensics data-mining.
