In a recent study conducted by Emblem Health, Nearly 1,000 consumers aged 18+ were asked “What does value-based care mean to you?” of the 26% who said they are aware of the term “value-based care,” the study shows:

    • 25%: Value-based care has emerged as an alternative and potential replacement for fee-for-service reimbursement based on quality rather than quantity.
    • 25%: A system where the price you pay is based on the level of care you get.
    • 25%: Value-based care means to me that I am paying less premiums and copays for a doctor who will still give you quality treatment.
    • 25%: I have heard the term used, but I am not sure what it means.
