    The U.S. surpassed Italy as the country with the most recorded coronavirus deaths in the world. On CNN yesterday, Dr. Anthony Fauci said he thinks stay-at-home orders could be relaxed in some parts of the country “maybe next month.” New hospitalizations in New York hit their lowest level since the pandemic began.

  2. Projected Coronavirus Costs Are $112.5-185.4 Billion For 20% Infection Rate

    AHIP recently released cost projections for COVID-19 testing and treatment. Here are some key findings on total costs for 2020 and 2021:

    • In a 10% infection rate scenario, total projected cost is $56.2-92.7 billion.
    • In a 20% infection rate scenario, total projected cost is $112.5-185.4 billion.
    • Total enrollee cost sharing in the 20% infection scenario is $20–26 billion.
    • In a 60% infection rate scenario, total projected cost is $337.5-556.1 billion.
