  2. 3.5 Million More Hispanic Adults Had Health Insurance in 2015 vs 2013

    The Commonwealth Fund recently released a study on racial disparities from 2013-2015 before and after the ACA. Here are some key findings from the report:

    • The share of black adults that skipped care because of costs declined 4 % points.
    • 3.5 million more Hispanic adults had health insurance in 2015 compared to 2013.
    • 2 million more black adults had health insurance in 2015 compared to 2013.
    • The uninsured rate dropped 9 percentage points for black adults ages 19 to 64.
    • For Hispanic adults, the uninsured rate dropped by 12 percentage points.
    • The share of Hispanic adults without a usual care source decreased 4 % points.
