    MIT Technology Review recently published a report on AI use in healthcare. Here are some key findings:

    • 7 in 10 healthcare institutions have adopted or are considering AI.
    • 83% of healthcare institutions using or planning to use AI plan to buy third-party AI algorithms.
    • 3 in 5 providers using AI say it has decreased time spent updating records and reports.
    • 45% of providers using AI say it has given them more time to consult with patients.

    In surprising news this week, CMS (the Centres for Medicare & Medicaid Services) in the USA approved the first reimbursement for AI augmented medical care of up to $1,040.

    Viz.ai have a deep learning model which identifies signs of stroke on brain CT and automatically contacts the neuro-interventionalist, bypassing the first read normally performed by a general radiologist.
