Officials at the troubled Tomah Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Wisconsin just reported that a dentist responsible for possibly infecting nearly 600 veterans has resigned.

VA versus IHS*
The Indian Health Services spent $3,688 on care for the average patient in 2015, according to an agency document.
The Veterans Health Administration, for comparison, spent an average of $11,056 on medical services for each veteran receiving VA health care in 2015, that agency’s records show.
*NOTE: The two agencies count the users of their services differently, and their populations vary.
