Please find attached the August 2010 Edition of Plan Management Navigator. In this month’s edition, we summarize the results of Blue Cross Blue Shield Plans. The 24 plans collectively serve 32.5 million members and are leaders in their communities. Because of the weak economic environment and the effects of health care reform, health plans are heavily committed to the management of administrative expenses.
The median administrative expense ratio for this peer group in 2009 was 9.7%, down from 9.9% in 2008 and 10.4% in 2007.
