2015 Fee Schedule to Remain Flat for Specialists
CMS recently unveiled its proposed rule for the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) for CY 2015.
According to the MPFS proposed rule, specialists on average should expect to see no change to their estimated total allowed charges in 2015.
Those generally associated with primary care, such as family practice and internal medicine, expect to see an estimated payment increase, while most specialties, such as podiatry, saw no change and some, such as radiology and ophthalmology, saw a decrease.
CMS also unveiled the Medicare hospital outpatient prospective payment system (OPPS) and the Medicare ambulatory surgical center (ASC) payment system proposed rules.
