The majority of employers (95%) offer prescription drug program coverage and dental insurance. Contraception and vision coverage taper off at 84% and 83% respectively.

  2. Could Google becoming a health company?

In the words of Larry Page:

“Generally, health is just so heavily regulated. It’s just a painful business to be in. It’s just not necessarily how I want to spend my time. Even though we do have some health projects, and we’ll be doing that to a certain extent.

But, I think the regulatory burden in the U.S. is so high that think it would dissuade a lot of entrepreneurs.”

Thanks to technology, we live in an era of unprecedented convenience. The stubborn exception is a visit to the doctor.

Every year in the United States, 80 percent of adults visit a physician. That adds up to a billion visits. The experience hasn’t changed much in the last 40 years. It remains inconvenient, with inflexible hours, unnecessary waiting, and the actual exam feels rushed.

But, the doctor’s office of the future will be dramatically different. Click here for more information on HP’s telehealth innovations and HP’s own mobile health clinics, HP eHealth Centers.

While once considered the most efficient communication method for patients in primarily rural locations, telehealth is evolving into a mainstream option for patients around the world.
