The new law would make it easier for the SEC to prosecute federal officials from all three branches who trade equities like stocks based on nonpublic information they receive in the course of their duties.

The “Real” Stock Act
Indeed, the House of Representatives just approved a bill that would prevent members of Congress from financial market trading based on non-public information they have obtained in the course of their congressional work.
However, although similar to a bill approved last week by the Senate, it does not include a provision regulating those in the financial information business.
Just think about it – why are these laws needed and why so eviscerated?
