According to Dan Dunlop, over at The Healthcare Marketer, the following video promotes Malaysia as a preferred healthcare destination. It positions the country as a one stop destination for all medical and tourism related needs, bringing together related service providers on a single platform. Malaysia would like to be seen as being on the leading edge of technology.

Malaysia Healthcare

In fact, here’s what the Malaysia Healthcare website had to say about the video:

“With state of the art hospitals being built in Malaysia; it’s just a matter of time before we experience seamless healthcare delivery. Malaysia Healthcare patients use a portable Personal Health Record (PHR) called the iPHER that carries all their PHI which includes, medications, lab tests, diagnosis, immunizations, alternative procedures, digital images, dental records, ophthalmic care (lens and contact prescriptions) and DNA any where in the world with no need to access the Internet to view the information. Malaysia Healthcare currently uses this PHR to reduce medical errors and create continuity of care for all their patients and to provide seamless healthcare delivery.”

Assessment

This is an incredible video that demonstrates how Microsoft sees the future of healthcare and shows one vision for how technology will potentially improve our way of life!

  1. MSFT

The stock has climbed 15 percent since Feb. 4th, when the company announced that Microsoft veteran Satya Nadella would replace longtime CEO Steve Ballmer.

Nadella, who previously ran the firm’s cloud and enterprise group, has promised that under his leadership Microsoft will revive the innovative spirit that put the company on the map.

  2. More on Micro Medical Practices

Micro practices are a return to the model used by old-fashioned country doctors. Those physicians, who treated everyone from babies to seniors, used to travel to people’s homes when they were ill, a convenience that’s been all but forgotten. Though today’s solo practitioners don’t routinely do home visits for the most part, they do take care of just about everything else.

Physicians who have a micro or solo practice often take on multiple roles including reception and nursing care. Many wear other hats as well, such as bookkeeper, records manager, and emergency on-call doctor, among other things.

Typically, physicians who practice solo see far fewer patients than group practitioners. They are also able to spend a great deal more time with each patient.

How are they able to do this?

Overhead is dramatically lower for solo physicians. The trade off is the fact that they must wear so many hats.
