  2. 50 Million Would Switch Providers to One That Offers Telehealth

    American Well recently released the results of its “Telehealth Index: 2017 Consumer Survey.” Here are some key findings from the report:

    • 20% would switch their current PCP if another PCP offered telehealth visits.
    • 65% are interested in seeing their PCP over video.
    • 60% would see a doctor online for help managing a chronic condition.
    • 3 in 4 parents with children under 18 are interested in telehealth.
    • 79% of caregivers say a video telehealth service would be helpful.
    • 50 million consumers would switch providers to one that offers telehealth.

  3. Report of Medicare Members in 2017

    According to HealthMine’s recent Report of Medicare Members in 2017, 57% of Medicare plan members are unsure if their plan offers telemedicine, another 31% say telemedicine is not offered. Just 9% of Medicare plan members say their plan integrates data from health tools. Just 7% of Medicare plan members are connected to plan on social media. 47% of Medicare plan members say their health plan’s member portal ‘rarely or never’ answers most of their questions online.
