I can never get on the website, let alone sign-up or pay. Then, there is the matter of insurance company registration, doctor acceptance and hospital networks, etc.

You can rest assured that the health care industry will go all-out to protect Obamacare from repeal.

Insurers like WellPoint, Molina, UnitedHealth, and Centene make a lot of money administering Medicaid, and will resist any rollbacks of that program.

Hospitals have been the most influential lobbyists in favor of Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion. The pharmaceutical industry, led by Pfizer, ran ads supporting Obamacare in 2009 and 2010, confident that the health law would expand the market for its products.

  3. Healthcare.gov can hurt you

“Obama Administration Knew of Healthcare.gov Security Risks Before Launch – Documents show 19 vulnerabilities left unaddressed before Oct. 1,” by Elizabeth Harrington, December 19, 2013, The Washington Free Beacon.

    http://freebeacon.com/obama-admin-knew-of-healthcare-gov-security-risks-before-launch/

Harrington: “[Chairman of the House Committee on Government Oversight and Reform] Darrell Issa (R., Calif.) said Health and Human Services (HHS) officials showed a ‘disturbing lack of judgment’ by going ahead with the site’s launch and putting Americans’ personal information at risk.”

Congressman Issa tells the Beacon,“These documents show a disturbing lack of judgment by HHS officials, who decided to go forward with the launch of Healthcare.gov despite warnings of security vulnerabilities that placed sensitive information of website users at risk.”

Harrington: “Experts have warned Americans to stay away from Healthcare.gov because it lacks fundamental security safeguards. According to ‘white hat hacker’ David Kennedy, the website is constantly under attack. In fact, the most popular searches on Healthcare.gov were hack attempts in the beginning days of the launch.”

One would think that the stricter Omnibus rules would naturally cause more data breaches to be reported. As the increase fails to materialize, watch for Sebelius to continue to back away from the importance of protecting patients’ privacy.

  4. Feds offer another break to people losing health coverage

Darrell – The Obama administration just gave another break to people losing their health insurance coverage late; offering a special hardship exemption to patients who want the extremely cheap, bare-bones plans known as catastrophic coverage.

It’s the latest in a series of last-minute concessions being made by federal officials harried by complaining consumers as the days tick down to January 1, 2014 and the last deadline for getting health insurance for the new year.

Are cheap government plans any better than the cheap plans the government took away?

  6. Repairs to Healthcare.gov Have Not Bolstered Support for Obamacare

Improvements in the government’s insurance Web portal have not translated into stronger public support for the health law, a new poll shows. Nearly half of the public views the law unfavorably this month, while only a third likes it.

    http://www.physiciansnews.com/2013/12/20/repairs-to-healthcare-gov-have-not-bolstered-support-for-obamacare/?utm_source=Copy+of+12.19.13&utm_campaign=11713&utm_medium=email

That’s about the same as in November, when public opinion plummeted after the technologically troubled start of the health care marketplaces, according to the poll from the Kaiser Family Foundation.
