Please find attached below the Mid-July 2010 Edition of Plan Management Navigator. In this month’s edition, we summarize the results of Independent / Provider Sponsored health plans. The 17 plans collectively serve 6.0 million members and are leaders in their communities.
Status of the Economy
Because of the weak economic environment and the effects of health care reform, health plans are heavily committed to the management of administrative expenses.
Navigator Results
The median administrative expense ratio for this peer group in 2009 was 8.0%, down from 8.3% in 2008 and 9.4% in 2007.
